Ms. Mascherin is a partner at Jenner & Block and is a member of the Firm's Telecommunications, Litigation, Domestic and International Arbitration, Bankruptcy/Corporate Restructuring, Intellectual Property and Technology Law, and Trade Secrets and Unfair Competition Practices.

In addition to her litigation practice, Ms. Mascherin also has an active pro bono practice. She is a panel member of the Capital Litigation Division of the Office of the Illinois Appellate Defender, and has been certified as a member of the Illinois Capital Litigation Trial Bar, qualified to act as lead counsel in capital cases. She is a past member of the Board of the Chicago Lawyer's Committee for Civil Rights, is a member and past Chair of the Northwestern University Law School Fund Board and is Vice Chair and a member of the Executive Committee of the Northwestern University Law School Board. She is Chair of the Steering Committee of the American Bar Association's Death Penalty Representation Project and has served as a member of the Chicago Bar Association Board of Managers.

Ms. Mascherin received her B.A. degree, magna cum laude, from Duke University in 1981, with dual majors in public policy studies (concentration in health policy) and history. She received her J.D. from the Northwestern University Law School, cum laude, in 1984, where she graduated Order of the Coif. While at Northwestern, Ms. Mascherin served as managing editor of the Journal of Criminal Law & Criminology and as co-chairperson of the Julius H. Miner Moot Court Board.
