Representative Durkin was sworn in to office on January 6, 2006. He currently serves on the Illinois House Judiciary II Committee. This is his second stint as state representative. He also served as Illinois State Representative from 1995-2002, representing a similar area in west suburban Cook County. Previously, Representative Durkin served as an Assistant State’s Attorney in Cook County and as an Assistant Illinois Attorney General. He is currently Of Counsel with the law firm of Wildman, Harrold, Allen & Dixon. Additionally, Durkin is a current member of the Death Penalty Reform Study Committee.
Representative Durkin received his bachelor degree of science from Illinois State University and his law degree from the John Marshall Law School.
