Justice DiVito served as a judge in the Circuit Court of Cook County for 12 years and as a Justice of the Illinois Appellate Court for eight years. In addition to presiding as a Justice in the Illinois Appellate Court, he was a member of the First District's Executive Committee, and served as the Chairman of the Computer and Information Committee. In August 1997, he joined the Chicago law firm of Quinlan & Crisham as a partner, concentrating in trial and appellate litigation. In February 2001, he co-founded Tabet DiVito & Rothstein LLC, where his concentration is in complex civil litigation.
Justice DiVito has been a member of the Boards of the Chicago Bar Association, the Illinois State Bar Association, the Chicago Bar Foundation, the Illinois Lawyers Assistance Program, the Illinois Appellate Lawyers Association, and the John Howard Association. And among his many professional accolades, the Illinois State Bar Association with its Board of Governors Award has honored him.
Justice Divito received his J.D. from Loyola University of Chicago School of Law and a B.A. from Loyola University of Chicago in Philosophy and Latin.
