Professor Decker joined the faculty at the DePaul University College of Law in 1971 and currently teaches Criminal Law and Criminal Procedure.  He has been director of the College of Laws highly successful Field Placement Program for 25 years, which has provided law students the opportunity to gain practical legal experience with government agencies, non-profit organizations and judges for academic credit.  Professor Decker has worked extensively as a faculty member at continuing legal education conferences for Illinois judges and more recently as a lecturer on search and seizure issues at the Annual Winter Training Conference of the Illinois States Attorneys Association.  In addition to numerous law review articles, Professor Decker's extensive publications include treatises, books and articles that focus on criminal law and procedure issues.  Professor Decker has also been a visiting professor at the University College Dublin (Ireland) and the University of San Francisco School of Law.  He earned his B.A. at the University of Iowa; his J.D. at Creighton; and his LL.M. and J.S.D. at New York University and has practiced law in both California and Illinois.
