A criminal defense lawyer in DuPage County since 1995, Mr. Cornelius was a former Felony prosecuting Attorney for the DuPage County State's Attorney's Office. During his tenure with the State's Attorney Office, he was involved in the prosecution of misdemeanor, DUI, juvenile and domestic violence cases, earning a distinguished prosecutor evaluation. After leaving the State's Attorney's office, Mr. Cornelius was an associate with the Law Firm of James D. Montgomery and Associates (currently known as Cochran and Montgomery) in Chicago, Illinois where he practiced in the areas of criminal and civil litigation. He left Montgomery's firm to begin his own practice in DuPage County. From 2001-2002, Mr. Cornelius served on the ISBA Board of Governors.
Mr. Cornelius received his J.D. from the Northern Illinois University College of Law in 1989. He received his B.B.A. in 1986 from the University of St. Francis in Joliet, Illinois where he was an Academic All American.
